You can record meetings in Coffee in several ways. Below are the available options and the specific behaviors for each.
Quick summary
You can record meetings using:
The Coffee web app recorder (default)
The Coffee desktop app
3rd party recording apps via Zapier integration
Web app recorder (default)
Coffee joins your external meetings as a digital bot to record audio and video.
Default behavior: Coffee automatically joins and records your calendar events.
Best for: Hands-off setup and capturing both video and audio.
Managing the bot: If you do not want Coffee to auto-join, you must disable the auto-join feature in your settings.
Control: To stop a live recording, you must kick the bot from the meeting.

Desktop app recorder
The desktop application records audio and video directly without a bot joining the call.
Best for: Less intrusive recording. No "recorder bot" is visible to other participants.
Trigger: Click the popup prompt to start recording immediately before your meeting begins.
Manual stop: If you stop the recording manually via the desktop app, Coffee will immediately begin processing the transcript.
Automatic stop: If you forget to stop the recording, Coffee will automatically stop and save the session once it detects the meeting has ended or the app is closed.

External recorders (via Zapier)
Use third-party tools like Fathom, Gong, Fireflies, etc. and sync the transcript to Coffee.
Best for: Users with existing recording workflows who want Coffee's analysis.
Workflow: Your external tool records the meeting; Zapier sends the transcript to Coffee once the file is finalized.
Note: Processing time depends on the third-party tool's speed in finalizing the transcript.
