Connecting external MCP servers to Coffee

Connect any MCP-compatible service to Coffee's Integrations page and query its data through Ask Coffee.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI tools connect directly to a service's data. Coffee's Integrations page lets you connect any MCP-compatible service — such as a project management tool or support platform — to your Coffee workspace. Once connected, Ask Coffee can pull in that service's data automatically when you ask a related question.

This article covers connecting an external service to Coffee. If you want to connect Coffee to Claude.ai or ChatGPT instead, so those tools can query your Coffee data, see Connecting Coffee to Claude.ai or Using Coffee with ChatGPT.

How do I connect an MCP server to Coffee?

  1. Go to your Settings (bottom left) and select Integrations.

  2. Find Custom MCP server in the list and click Connect.

  1. In the Connect MCP server window, enter the service's name to search for it, or paste its MCP server URL directly, in the Service or server URL field.

  2. Click Continue.

Follow the sign-in steps shown for that service. Coffee checks how the service wants you to sign in and displays the matching steps automatically.

How do I use the connected service's data?

Once a service is connected, ask Ask Coffee a question the way you normally would. Ask Coffee decides on its own when to pull in data from the connected service — you don't need to select or reference it directly.
