Use Field History in Coffee to see who changed a field, when it changed, and where the change came from, such as a teammate, a CRM sync, a CSV import, or Coffee AI. If a value is wrong, you can restore a previous one. Everyone in your workspace can view Field History on records they can see. Owners, Admins, and Members can also restore values.
How do I see who changed a field and when?
Go to a grid, such as Deals, People, or Companies.
Right-click (Control-click on Mac) the cell of the field you want to check. For example, the Stage cell of a deal.
Select View History from the menu. The Field History window opens.
Read the entries, from newest at the top to oldest at the bottom. The subtitle under the window title names the field and the record, for example "Changes to Stage on Product Analytics."
Click the X in the top-right corner to close the window.
What does each entry in Field History show?
Each Field History entry shows:
Who or what made the change: a teammate's name, or a source such as HubSpot, CSV import, or Coffee AI.
When: the date and time of the change.
The value: what the field was updated to or set to.
Current badge: marks the latest entry, which is the value the field has today.
Changes made through Ask Coffee appear under the name of the person who asked. Changes made by AI fields and other Coffee AI output appear as "Coffee AI."
How do I restore a previous value of a field?
Only Owners, Admins, and Members can restore a value. Read only users can view the history but don't see the Restore button.
Open Field History for the field.
Find the entry with the value you want.
Click Restore next to that entry. Coffee sets the field back to that value.
Close the Field History window. The field shows the restored value.
The Current entry has no Restore button because it's already the field's value. Restoring a value doesn't add a new entry to Field History.
Does restoring a value update my CRM?
Restoring a value works exactly like typing the old value into the cell yourself. If your workspace has CRM sync-back turned on, the restored value also syncs to HubSpot or Salesforce, following the same rules as any manual edit. If sync-back is off, the change stays in Coffee.
Who can see Field History?
Any role, including Read only, can view Field History for any record they can already see. If you can't open a record, you can't view its history.
Which fields and grids support Field History?
Field History works on every field in every grid in Coffee, including People, Companies, and Deals.
