Managing notification preferences

Choose which updates you get by App, Email, or Slack, and manage alerts from the notification bell.

You can receive Coffee notifications through three channels: App (the notification bell), Email, and Slack. You control which notification types you get and which channels deliver them from your personal settings.

What notification groups are available?

Coffee organizes 13 notification types into four groups, based on when they're sent:

As it happens

  • Assigned task

  • Assigned as deal owner

  • Contact record updated

  • Agent awaiting your input

Beginning of the week – deal alerts

  • Close date in the past

  • No activity in past 2 weeks

  • No next steps

  • One or fewer contacts

Weekday mornings

  • External meeting briefings

  • Action items due

Weekday end of day

  • Follow-up email drafts

  • Suggested tasks

  • Deal change suggestions

Each notification type can be turned on or off independently for each of the three channels (App, Email, Slack).

How do you change your notification settings?

  1. Click Settings at the bottom left of the sidebar.

  2. Under Personal, select Notifications.

  3. Find the notification type you want to change within its group.

  4. Check or uncheck the App, Email, or Slack box for that notification type.

  5. Click Save Changes at the bottom right of the page.

Your new settings apply immediately — you don't need to reload the page.

ℹ️ To receive Slack notifications, you must first connect your Slack account. Each user connects individually to get their own personalized alerts. See Integrating Coffee to Slack for setup steps.

How do you view and act on notifications in the notification bell?

The notification bell sits next to your profile photo in the top-right corner of Coffee. A red badge on the bell shows your number of unread notifications.

  1. Click the bell icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Review your notifications in the panel that opens. Each one shows what happened and when.

  3. Click the action link on a notification (for example, Update Profile, Update Deal, or Open Draft) to go directly to the related record or draft.

  4. To clear all unread badges at once, click Mark all read at the top of the panel.
