Capturing website form submissions with Coffee's Website Forms

Detect forms on your website, map their fields to Coffee, and route submissions to lists and notifications.

1. Install the Website Forms script

  1. Log in to Coffee and go to Settings.

  2. Select Tracking.

  3. Expand the Website forms section.

  4. Under Setup & Installation, click Copy to copy the script tag.

  5. Paste the script in the <head> section of your website. If you use a CMS or website builder (e.g., WordPress, Webflow, or Tag Manager), check their documentation for how to add a script to your site's head.

  6. Enter your site's address in the Website URL field.

  7. Save and publish your website changes.

2. Verify the connection

  1. Return to the Website forms section in Settings > Tracking.

  2. Click Verify.

  3. A Receiving submissions status confirms the tag is active and forwarding form data.

3. Scan your site for forms

Once verified, Coffee scans your website and lists every form it finds under Identification.

  1. Review the detected forms. Each one is named by its likely purpose (for example, Contact form or Request a demo) and shows the page URL where it was found.

  2. If you add a new form to your site or change an existing one, click Rescan site to update the list.

4. Map form fields to Coffee

Field mapping means matching a field on your form (like email or company) to the matching field in Coffee (like Email or Company Name). Coffee maps common fields automatically, but you can adjust any mapping.

  1. For each form, review the Field mapping list.

  2. To change a mapping, click the dropdown next to a field and select the correct Coffee field.

  3. To exclude a field from being saved to Coffee, click the X next to it.

5. Route submissions to a list

  1. Every submission is added to the All people list automatically and enriched. If a work email is present a company will be created for that URL as well.

  2. To also route a form's submissions to a specific list — for example, to separate demo requests from newsletter signups — go to Add submissions to list for that form.

  3. Select an existing list, or type a name to create a new one.

  4. Repeat for each form you want routed to its own list.

6. Set up notifications for new submissions

  1. In the form's settings, find the Notifications section.

  2. Turn on Email notifications to send each submission to one or more email addresses.

  3. Turn on Slack notifications to post each submission to a Slack channel.

  4. Click Save Changes to apply.
