Set your recorder's display name and choose its appearance for meeting participants.
Accessing recorder settings
Log in to your Coffee account.
Click Settings in the bottom left of the sidebar menu.
Select Call Recorder from the settings menu.
Naming your recorder
Set the name participants see when the Coffee recorder joins your meeting.
Locate the Recorder Name section.
Enter a name in the text field (for example, "Doug's Meeting Recorder"). This is the name participants see when the recorder joins a meeting.
Click Save Changes.
Customizing recorder appearance
Choose how the recorder's branded video overlay looks to meeting participants. This setting is personal — each user sets their own appearance, and it doesn't affect what other teammates see.
Locate the Recorder Appearance section.
Select one of the following options:
Coffee default: Shows a black background with the Coffee steam logo, your recorder name in the bottom left corner, and "coffee.ai" branding in the bottom right corner.
Custom image: Upload your own image to replace the background. Images must be JPG or PNG, 16:9, 1280×720 recommended, and under 1.3 MB. Coffee center-crops your image to fit.
Minimal display: Shows a plain dark screen with only a Recording indicator and a "Powered by Coffee" mark — no logo or custom image.
If you selected Custom image, click Upload image and choose a file from your computer.
Click Save Changes.
ℹ️ Note: Appearance changes apply to upcoming recordings only — not past recordings or recordings already in progress.
