Using and editing custom briefing and summary templates

Learn how to manage AI summary and briefing templates in Coffee to match your specific sales methodologies and meeting workflows.

Coffee automatically creates an AI summary for past meetings and an AI briefing for future ones. By default, a predefined template is applied to all meetings.
If you create a custom template, a selector appears directly in the meeting summary so you can switch between them.

Permissions note:
Editing and creating summary templates is restricted to Owners and Admins. Members can apply and use existing templates.

How Coffee’s summary templates work

After a meeting is recorded, Coffee generates an AI summary using the General template. Depending on your role, you can customize how these insights are captured.

All users can:

  • Switch to a custom template created by a workspace admin. When you select a template for a meeting, this will remain your default template for all briefings/summaries.

Admins and owners can also:

  • Edit existing templates.

  • Save and create original custom templates.

This allows you to personalize summaries for different workflows, such as discovery calls, negotiations, onboarding, or implementation sessions.
