Coffee automatically creates an AI summary for past meetings and an AI briefing for future ones. While a default "General" template is applied to every meeting, you can switch between pre-created templates or edit them to better suit your team's process.
Permissions note:
Editing and creating summary templates is restricted to Owners and Admins. Members can apply and use existing templates.
How Coffee’s summary templates work
After a meeting is recorded, Coffee generates an AI summary using the General template. Depending on your role, you can customize how these insights are captured.
All users can:
Switch to a different pre-created template based on various sales methodologies.
Admins and owners can also:
Edit existing templates.
Save and create original custom templates.
This allows you to personalize summaries for different workflows, such as discovery calls, negotiations, onboarding, or implementation sessions.
Change to a pre-existing template
If you want to view a meeting summary using a specific methodology (like MEDDIC or BANT), you can swap the template after the meeting.
Open a past meeting from your Meetings and Notes tab or your Today page.
Click on the Summary tab.
On the right side of the screen, use the dropdown menu to select your desired template.
Create a new summary or briefing template
Admins can build custom templates from scratch to ensure the AI captures the exact details required by their team.
Go to Settings (bottom left corner).
Select Intelligence and then click Meetings.
Click on the pop-up menu next to the section you want to create or edit a template for - Meeting Briefing or Meeting Summary
Select New custom template.
Enter a name, a title, and the AI prompts you want Coffee to process.
If needed, click to create additional sections for more granular summaries.
Click Save changes.
